Position Title: Loan Officer Assistant

Location: Overland Park, KS

Position Responsibilities:
  • Take loan applications
  • Enter application in Architect/Surveyance
  • Run AUS
  • Issue preapproval letters
  • Enter prospective borrowers in HBM and send welcome letters
  • Run Credit expert as necessary
  • Field phone calls from agents and clients
  • Maintain Mortgage Returns
  • Prepare application packages
  • Request disclosures from Disclosure Desk
  • Review all credit documentation provided by borrowers to be sure they still qualify before turning file into Processing department
  • Request any missing items after application appointment
  • Order FHA case numbers and appraisals
  • Follow up on missing items (with borrowers and processors)
  • Lock loans in LO absence
  • Confirm lock confirmations; match what was requested/follow up with Lock desk as necessary
  • Monitor lock expiration report and extend as necessary
  • Maintain spreadsheet of LO’s agents
  • Maintain email address data base for LO to send weekly newsletters
  • Request/follow up on closing dates/times
  • Remind LO day before all closings
  • Print closing packages or follow up to be sure packages are received/printed/CD burned
  • Track/follow up on commitment dates to be sure we meet them
  • Generally communicating with agents and clients keeping them in the loop on the process
  • Research program guidelines and scenarios
  • Occasionally meet with clients to sign application and/or closing packages
Position Requirements:
  • Minimum high school diploma required.
  • Team oriented, able to work cooperatively and professionally with clients, peers and management.
  • Prior mortgage industry experience required. Understanding of Conventional and Government lending guidelines.
  • Knowledge of mortgage processing, underwriting and closing procedures most preferred. 
  • Strong computer skills working with various database systems, ability to analyze complex financial data.
  • Ability to work in fast paced environment and multi-task with high attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong work ethic and ability to stay self-motivated. Must hold superior customer service skills. 
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills required.
