Position Title: Senior SQL DBA
 
Position Type: Full time, permanent

Position responsibilities:
  • Serves as a Senior, technical resource and ensures proper operations in reference to infrastructure architecture, planning, implementation, maintenance and problem resolution for all SQL Server Database and Server resources within the organization.  
  • Performs general DBA tasks to include: install, configure, perform migrations, backup/restore and implement database designs using Microsoft SQL 2005 through Microsoft SQL 2012 database architecture.
  • Supports EHR (Epic) SQL databases, adhering strictly to vendor guidelines and recommendations.
  • Builds, manage and maintains high/continuous availability environment considering disaster recovery, including virtual SQL instances in multiple existing clustered environments.
  • Monitors production databases, ensures maximum performance and assists in query optimization
  • Designs and implements data warehouses, data cubes, ETL (Extract, Transform, and Load) processes, etc.
  • Deploys packages, projects and reports utilizing tools such as SSIS (SQL Server Integration Services), SSAS (SQL Server Analysis Services), and SSRS (SQL Server Reporting Services)
  • Supports application specialists in vendor management for incident and problem resolutions
  • Creates processes and procedures for building new and upgrading database, as well as completing routine and repeatable tasks
  • Creates and maintains database design, structure, processes and procedures documentation
  • Participate in server build and administration. Other related duties as assigned.
 
Position Requirements:
  • Minimum Associates degree (Bachelor's preferred) combined with strong, related SQL DBA experience.  
  • Minimum 5 years related experience in large institutional environment may be accepted in lieu of education requirements. 
  • Any applicable certifications helpful for the role are highly preferred. Epic certifications highly preferred as well.
  • Please note: this position will require EPIC certification within six months of hire.
  • Prior leadership and/or project management experience helpful.
  • High attention to detail, ability to take initiative and serve as a leader on the team. Works well with others and upholds high levels of professionalism. Strong communication and customer service skills required.
